What Happens on Your First Visit
When you first attend, a fully confidential case history is taken. This includes information on your symptoms, medical history and lifestyle.
Then, an examination of the painful area, movement and posture is made. Normally, patients are required to remove some clothing to enable ease of examination, but this can be performed through loose clothing if you prefer.
The diagnosis, type of treatment and possible timescale of recovery is discussed with you.
If you are happy to proceed, treatment is started. In many cases this involves deep therapeutic muscle massage, joint manipulation and other osteopathic techniques.
Where appropriate, advice regarding exercises will be given to you to help speed up your recovery. In due course, information on nutrition, stress management and lifestyle changes will be offered to you to maximise your long term recovery and minimise re-injury.
Treatment sessions last 30 minutes.
